Do You Need Qualified Employees?
Here's an easy way to find employees for your shop!
(Reprinted from DuPont
Refinisher News, December 2002)
Many shops find it hard to find qualified auto body repair
technicians. In fact, it's almost impossible. Here's
a solution: In the DuPont
Performance Coatings Web Site there is a section called Classifieds.
Trained and skilled candidates are listed here. There are several
hundred to select from. If they are not listed for your state, don't
worry -- most of them state that they are open to relocation. Many
of these candidates are Universal
Technical Institute (UTI) graduates. DPC has formed a partnership
with UTI to develop a real world, state-of-the-art training curriculum.
This partnership includes assistance to shops using DPC products who
would be interested in hiring UTI graduates. UTI's Collision Repair and
Refinish Technology (CRRT) Program qualifies graduates as entry-level
collision repair technicians equipped with the basic knowledge and
skills to repair and refinish collision damaged vehicles. Many of these
students, after meeting certain criteria, attain DuPont and I-CAR
credentials. New graduates and
their resumes are available every three weeks. You
can either post your position on the site (which will be then sent to
more than a dozen Internet sites), or you can browse the resumes of the
candidates already listed. Here's
how to review the resumes listed on the DPC Web site: 1.
Log on to www.performancecoatings.dupont.com.
2. Click on Login. (Please
register on the site if you haven't already.) 3.
Find the "Classifieds" button on top of the screen --
and Click! 4. Click on "Employers"
that appears on the left side of the screen. 5.
Click on "Resume Management". Once there, you can
select from any of these: • Keywords
to look for painters, technicians and more. •
Location and Date to look for candidates in particular areas. •
Newest Resumes to look at resumes listed in the last 30, 60, 90
or more days. • Resume
Agents will look for you and advise you via e-mail when there is a
new posting that meets your criteria. Initially, you will be sent an
e-mail with all matches – after that, only the new matches will be
sent. The agent checks the database several times a day; this saves you
the time of doing it yourself. |
